AI is becoming part of everyday business. But its use varies greatly from one country to another.
According to Eurostat, the European Union's statistical office, 5.2% of Romanian enterprises used at least one AI technology in 2025, compared with 20.0% across the EU. The survey covers businesses with at least ten employed people in the sectors surveyed. It does not cover every business.
That puts Romania at roughly one quarter of the EU-wide rate. The figures show a gap in use. They do not tell us why it exists or how much value companies get from AI.
If businesses elsewhere learn to use AI well while Romanian businesses stand still, we risk falling behind. Tasks that take us hours might take competitors less time. This is a possible consequence, rather than something the statistic proves.
There is also an opportunity. Learning where AI helps, where it fails, and how to check its work can help us make better use of it. That is where this course begins.
